Korean politics paper

Due by midnight, the end of March 4, emailed to me. About 3-4 pages, double-spaced, with standard font and margins. Cite at least four news articles, plus assigned course readings if appropriate. (Suggestion: Chosun Ilbo is a major Seoul newspaper with an English-language edition.) Use a standard citation format properly

The assignment is to use a recent event or policy dispute in order to explain current political divisions in South Korea. (Use one of the events or disputes listed below, or use one of your own provided that submit it to me by midnight at the end of February 27.) The event or dispute you use should be different from the topic of your term paper.
  1. The Sewol disaster
  2. The investigation of National Intelligence Agency actions in the 2013 election
  3. The suicide of Roh Moo-hyun
  4. The reopening of the Kaesong Industrial Region in North Korea
  5. The 2012 U.S. - Korea Free Trade Agreement
  6. Military and intelligence cooperation with Japan
  7. The defense treaty with the U.S.
In your paper, explain the particular issue, and explain at least two views on that issue within Korea. In general, what kinds of people - in terms of interests or ideology - are on each side? Describe how major parties or major current or recent political leaders have tried to represent each side.
